Case Assessment

These courses are usually provided within the Criminal Justice and Mental Health Fields. They are 2-3 day events offering participants the opportunity to develop their skills in offence or behavioural analysis employing a Cognitive Behavioural framework. During these events staffs are introduced to specific tools to undertake case assessment and examine, in particular, the cognitions and behavioural patterns behind problematic behaviours. Participants are then introduced to a range of interventions that might enable individual learning needs to be targeted so that more effective behaviours can be developed in a manner that is motivational to the individual concerned. Staff are encouraged to practise these approaches as far as possible during the programme and to design an intervention for working with a current client which will be put into their action plan and optionally reviewed after the course in a one day follow up.
