DO – Lead Structured Team Activities
We use carefully selected activities to place participants in appropriately challenging situations where they have the opportunity to put leadership skills into practice in as real an environment as possible. We choose the activities to suit the participants, the time available, and the learning outcomes required – our range is extensive and includes practical problem solving, creative projects, outdoor journeys, and theatrical productions for invited audiences.
REVIEW – Feedback on performance
We provide delegates with valuable opportunities to receive direct feedback on their performance as a leader based on immediate concrete experience. Review and feedback sessions are conducted both using peer learning groups and 1:1 with our leadership development tutors. We stimulate critical thinking and analysis while encouraging balanced feedback – participants learn from their successes as well as from those areas where they would like to improve.
APPLY – Identify where and how to apply learning
Throughout our programmes learning points are linked and related to work place leadership issues. Delegates are encouraged to consider the implications of what they learn about themselves in relation to their own teams and in relation to the particular leadership issues which face them in their roles. Each participant leaves the programme with clear and specific actions to help them translate learning into lasting change in the workplace.
NEW IDEAS – Consider key leadership principles and ideas
All programmes draw on a range of key models and ideas to help participants to view the leadership role from new perspectives and to inspire them to make positive changes to their own approach to the role. The material used is tailored to the needs of each group although options include:
Established leadership models such as Action Centred Leadership, Situational Leadership, Leadership Styles, and Team Development principles
Psychometric profiling to help participants explore the impact of their own natural working preferences and personality on their approach to the role
The power of a leaders use of language including questioning skills, use of presuppositions, motivational hot buttons, and reframing
Other key leadership shills such as, listening, coaching, giving instructions, motivation, and delegation.
