Psychometric Analysis
For many teams a powerful approach to development is offered by the fresh perspectives which can be drawn from personality profiling and team roles theory. Over twenty years of dealing with team development projects has allowed us to establish close familiarity with a number of useful theories and the associated profiling tools. Today we offer our clients an informed eye for the most useful models and tools to introduce into their particular team dynamic, a proven ability to communicate and expand those ideas to audiences at all levels, and a practical grasp of how to help a team to use and apply the new insights offered by this approach into their everyday work practices.
Our Approach
‘No theory is perfect but some are useful’
Tools which we have found particularly useful in terms of team development include:
- Team Roles (including Belbin)
- Personality Type Theory (including Myers Briggs)
- Learning Styles (including Kolb)
- Personality Profiling (such as 16PF)
- Emotional Intelligence
- Fibro B assessment model
- DISC personality theory
We see all approaches as potentially useful and do not promote any one model at the expense of others. The most appropriate model for any given situation can be influenced by a range of factors from the perceived issues within a team, the team’s previous experience with such approaches, and practical considerations such as time available. We explore these factors with you and help you to identify the tool which will work most effectively for you in your particular circumstances.
Once the most appropriate approach has been identified we will present the chosen model in a realistic and balanced fashion. We find that it is important to acknowledge the complex and constantly evolving nature of this field of study (hence ‘no theory is perfect but some are useful’) while helping participants to turn a theoretical profile into useful insights into the dynamics at work within their teams.
Impact
Helping a team to view and understand themselves through the eyes of an insightful and constructive psychometric tool commonly provides a highly significant and positive experience. - Helping a team to be aware of its true strengths and development needs
- Greater understanding of colleagues
